Can A Believer In Christ Miss The Rapture?
Mark 13:32-35,
But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. 33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. 34 For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. 35 Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:
I have heard so many people say that believing in the Rapture of the Believers in Christ is not all that important. They also say that they are just taking a wait and see approach on the matter. They think that even if they are wrong about the Rapture they will be happy to go along for the ride when it happens because they have received His free gift. To tell you the truth I am not sure that is the smartest attitude to take because there are several scripture that say that it might be possible that believers in Christ can miss it. The scriptures do not tell us anywhere that all believers will be taken away in the Rapture event. But it does give us clear instructions on what we should be doing in order to be a part of the Rapture. In Matthew 25:1-12, it shows us that there are many people that know the groom and his father as well as that the wedding ceremony can happen at anytime and that they are to be looking and prepared for it. It then goes on to explain that there were those who were not prepared. They were late to head to the wedding where they found out that the doors were closed and they could no longer enter.
Matthew 25:1-12, Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. 2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: 4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. 6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. 9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. 11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
Jesus Himself then gave us clear instructions on what we need to be and do to miss the horrors of the tribulation that is to come.
Luke 21:36, Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
Revelation 3:10, Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
In 1 Thessalonians 5:4-9, we are also told the following.
But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. 8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
So is it possible that Believer’s who are not watching or prepared for the Rapture can be left behind to go through the tribulation period? Again I am not entirely certain, but from what I read in the scriptures I myself will always be hoping, watching, and prepared to be apart of the marriage ceremony with Jesus Christ at His coming.
Are You Prepared?
Are You Ready?
Romans 10:9-10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
