Questions For All?
There are so many people out there that play at being a follower of Jesus Christ.
Why say such a thing ? It’s because when it comes down to believing the very words of Jesus Christ they would rather turn there backs on Jesus, call Him a liar and deny He is God. They may not do these things intentionally but they are doing it just the same.
In 2 Timothy 4:3-4 we are told “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;”
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
So ask yourself, am I one of those people that have turned my back on Jesus and would rather follow teachers that tell you what they think instead of what Jesus has actually said?
Jesus states in Revelation 3:10-11
Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. 11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.
Jesus then states in Luke 21:34-36
And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. 35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
And finally Jesus tells us that there will come a day when He will return for His followers to join Him for the wedding feast, but some of them that claimed they knew Him will be turned away.
Matthew 25:8-13 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. 9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. 11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. 12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I KNOW YOU NOT. 13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
So now is the time where you need to ask yourself these 3 questions.
Do I really BELIEVE what Jesus says or have I turned my back on Him?
Have I forgotten the first Love, by spending all my time following what others say or by putting the signs and wonders ahead of the Gospel?
Am I going to be one of those people who play at following Him but in the end hear Him say to me
“I KNOW YOU NOT’?
It’s time we all quit playing and start praying. We need to start believing the things that the God of all that is has said. We need to stop turning to fables and come back to the First Love before He removes our candlestick.
Revelation 2:2-5
I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars: 3 And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name’s sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted. 4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
A FINAL THOUGHT
2 Peter 3:1-4
This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance: 2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour: 3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
