For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.  (Romans 1:20)

I WANT PROOF!

The proof you are looking for is in the Bible itself.  The Bible is what you could call a history book.  It gives us a history that started approximately 6000 years ago.  Jesus Christ lived approximately 2000 years ago, which would be around 4000 years after the people talked about in the book of Genesis lived. The Old Testament of the Bible contains 39 different books, which are Genesis through Malachi, and the New Testament contains 27 books which are Matthew through Revelation. What are the chances that people of the Old Testament who lived two thousand, three thousand, and even four thousand years before Jesus Christ was born, would know things about Jesus' life here on earth? The following comparisons of Old Testament Bible verses with New Testament verses were a deciding factor for me that Jesus was who he said He was.

Read them and decide for yourself.  (OT = Old Testament, NT = New Testament)

Jesus' Place of Birth

Micah 5:2 (OT) "But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting."

Matthew 2:1 (NT) "Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem."

Luke 2:4-7 (NT) "And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn."

Born of a Virgin

Isaiah 7:14 (OT) "Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign;  Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel."

Matthew 1:18 (NT) "Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost."

Luke 1:26-35 (NT) "And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.  And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God."

Rejected by His Own People

Isaiah 53:3 (OT) "He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows,  and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not."

John 1:11 (NT) "He came unto his own, and his own received him not."

John 5:43 (NT) "I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive."

Jesus' Entry into Jerusalem

Zechariah 9:9 (OT)  "Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass."

John 12:13-14 (NT)  "Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord. And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written."

Betrayed by a Friend

Psalms 41:9 (OT)  "Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me."

Mark 14:10 (NT)  "And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went unto the chief priests, to betray him unto them."

Sold for Thirty Pieces of Silver

Zechariah 11:12-13 (OT)  "And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver. And the LORD said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the LORD."

Matthew 26:15 (NT)  "And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver."

Matthew 27:3-10 "Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that. And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself. And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood. And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter's field, to bury strangers in. Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood, unto this day. Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by  Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value; And gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord appointed me."

Crucified with Sinners

Isaiah 53:12 (OT)  "Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors."

Matthew 8:16-17 (NT)  "Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left."

His Hands and Feet Were Pierced

Psalms 22:16 (OT)  "For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet."

Zechariah 12:10 (OT) "And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn."

John 20:25-27 (NT) "The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the LORD. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe. And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you. Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing."

John 19:37 (NT) "And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced."

Given Vinegar and Gall to Drink

Psalms 69:21 (OT)  "They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink."

John 19:29 (NT) "Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth."

Matthew 27:34 (NT) "They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink."

Soldiers Cast Lots for His Coat

Psalms 22:18 (OT) "They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture."

Mark 15:24 (NT)  "And when they had crucified him, they parted his garments, casting lots upon them, what every man should take."

None of His Bones Were Broken

Ps 34:20 (OT)  "He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken."

Exodus 12:46 (OT)  "In one house shall it be eaten; thou shalt not carry forth ought of the flesh abroad out of the house; neither shall ye break a bone thereof."

John 19:33 (NT)  "But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs:"

Buried with the Rich

Isaiah 53:9 (OT)  "And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth."

Matthew 27:57-60 (NT)  "When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus' disciple: He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered. And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed."
